
Mentor
Trina Norris grew up dancing at Jackie Donovan’s School of Dance in Saddle Brook, NJ. At age 7, she auditioned and was accepted into the School of American Ballet in NYC. During her 8 years there, Trina excelled in George Balanchine’s neoclassical style of ballet; performing in many productions such as The Nutcracker, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Circus Polka, and many others at Lincoln Center. She also performed with the Royal Danish Ballet at the Metropolitan Opera House. During her time in high school, she continued her training in different genres of dance at the Helén Baron School of Dance. There she performed in ballet, pointe, bolero, and jazz. She also participated in the Ridgewood Arts Festival. After high school, she continued her dance education at Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University, where she graduated with a BFA. After graduation, Trina took classes at Koresh in Philadelphia and Broadway Dance Center in NYC. She was also teaching dance at Kathy Henkel’s School of Dance in Washington Township, NJ. She was a mentor to dancers ages 3-16 for 19 years. For the past 2 years, she has been a part of the ZZ DANCE family as a mom of a ZZ Team dancer and one of the boyZZ, too! She is beyond excited to join the staff permanently and can’t wait to share her passion for dance with the young dancers at ZZ!

Why do you love to teach?
Ever since I was a young girl, I have loved to teach and guide others that need help. Dance is such a passion of mine and sharing that with others is such an incredible feeling.
