Jessica Paritsky has been dancing since she was 2 years old, including 8 years competitively, and trained extensively in various styles, including ballet, hip-hop, jazz, acro, contemporary, and lyrical. She attended Rutgers University–New Brunswick, where she studied Biology and Psychology, and she will be starting medical school this summer at Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine to follow her dream of becoming a physician.
While at Rutgers, Jessica continued dancing with the Rutgers Performing Dance Company (RPDC). Here, she choreographed several pieces in jazz, contemporary, and lyrical, taught workshops, and served as Secretary on the executive board. Jessica’s choreography was chosen to compete with other college teams, placing in the top 3 out of hundreds of performances. Jessica is thrilled to be joining ZZ DANCE and can’t wait to keep sharing her love and passion for dance!
What is your favorite dance movie?
Step Up!
What is your favorite style of dance?
My favorite style of dance is contemporary. I love being able to tell a story through movement and connect with the audience in a meaningful way.
What is your best dance memory?
My favorite dance memory was my last showcase performance with RPDC. Being on stage for the last time was so emotional and bittersweet, but I was thankful to have grown so much as a dancer, choreographer, and person. I knew I had to make sure that dance would continue to be a huge part of my life!
What are you most looking forward to at ZZ DANCE?
I am beyond excited to meet everyone, be able to inspire younger dancers, and be a part of the ZZ DANCE family!
