Mentor
Jack began dancing at age 4 and started competing when he was young. He trained in various styles including hip-hop, jazz, tap, musical theater, contemporary, and ballet. He was a member of the ZZ DANCE Team since opening day, and an active member of the community since graduating. He attended the University of Delaware, where he studied medical diagnostics. He is now home and applying to PA schools! While at the University of Delaware, Jack was a member of their Division 1A cheer team. He led as captain and won two national titles at the UCA national competitions. Jack is thrilled to be back home at ZZ to continue sharing his love of dance and spreading kindness!
What is your favorite ZZ DANCE memory?
My favorite memory at ZZ DANCE would have to be the studio’s very first recital! Having a recital coming out of covid was not an easy task especially as a brand new studio, but Miss Sammy and Miss Mer used their ZZ magic and put on the most special outdoor recital with a pop up stage! It was so magical being a part of the studios first recital, and what a unique one to start! I remember seeing the sun set as I performed my contemporary dance and it felt so surreal and cool.
Why are you excited to be a mentor at ZZ DANCE?
I am excited to be a mentor at ZZ because the mentors I had as a student at ZZ changed my life, and I want to give that same experience to kids who are like a younger me!
What is your favorite TV show?
My favorite TV show is probably the office!
If you were deserted on an island, what is one item you cannot live without?
It may sound corny, but if I were on a deserted island I would probably need my phone. I love to talk way too much to be by myself; I’d need to call someone. Not even to call for help, just to call to yap.
What is your favorite style of dance to perform?
My favorite style of dance to preform has got to be musical theater or jazz!
What is the hardest stretch for you?
The splits have always been my number one enemy.
