
Mentor
Hallie Berger is a teaching artist, performer, and choreographer in greater Philadelphia. A BFA graduate of the Mason Gross School of the Arts, Hallie studied with Keith A. Thompson, Roxanne Lyst, Blair Ritchie, and collaborated with John Evans. Hallie trained with Barbara Sandonato, Dalia and Douglas Hay, Christopher Fleming, and Lori Lahnemann. She has also studied with the American Ballet Theater, Orlando Ballet, Ballet Arizona, and the Rock School for Dance Education. She has danced professionally in regional theater productions of Mary Poppins, Kiss Me Kate, AIDA and The Pajama Game (dance captain). Hallie’s choreographic artistry has been showcased by performers of all ages in area productions of Chicago, Newsies, and junior versions of, The Lion King, Annie, Willy Wonka, and Alice in Wonderland. Hallie continues to share her talent and expertise coaching students of all levels. Under her guidance, Hallie’s students have achieved successful and entertaining performances in area events and competitions.
What is your favorite dance memory?
Getting my first pair of pointe shoes. I was so excited and couldn’t wait to practice and train.
Why do you love teaching?
I love teaching because I love sharing my love of dance with all people, especially kids. Watching kids find passion and joy in what they are doing makes me beyond happy.
What is your favorite dance accomplishment?
My favorite accomplishment was choreographing the musical Chicago. It was a lot of work, but it was very exciting to choreograph one of my favorite shows.
What is your favorite dance movie?
Favorite dance movie is The Turning Pointe. My mom and I watched it together growing up and still do!!
What stands out to you in your dance career thus far?
I got the opportunity to travel abroad to Israel and study dance my junior year of college through Rutgers. It was fantastic!!
Do you have any pets?
I have a beautiful kitty named Cooper. She came up to my doorstep and quickly after that I adopted her 🙂
